Jade Brown
Jade Brown is a London born Media Worker of Jamaican parentage and Saint Lucian descent. A devout follower and supporter of gender equality, community development, youth empowerment and liberalism. She spent some of her early years growing up in the community of Canaries. Jade has been actively involved in community development from an early age and has demonstrated a strong sense of community. She is undoubtedly a prominent young personality from Canaries.
She began her career in broadcast media at Helen Television System in 2013, a ‘green’ news reporter with her sights on success. During this time, she focused and gave significant coverage to the successes and challenges faced by young people. She also worked closely with the department of Gender Relations often shedding light on the plight of children in the foster care system.
In 2015, Jade became a senior Reporter and Co-anchor of the HTS Evening News.
In 2016, her talent and drive was noticed by then Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Kenny D Anthony who offered her the position of the Prime Ministers’ Press Secretary.
She then became the Marketing and Branding Manager at Rayneau Construction and Industrial Products Limited.
She is now the News Director and Anchor of MBC Prime.
In her community of Canaries, Jade founded the Canaries Carnival Committee with a view to spur economic activity in the community. Under her guidance and stewardship, the committee is now in its 7th year, and still going strong.
Jade is a student member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and is currently completing a course of study in Public Relations. She is also a student of the National Research and Development Foundation, where she is undertaking a course of study in the area of Project Management with particular interest in Communications Management.
Jade attended Westminster Adult College where she studied Early Childhood Development. It was during that period that she discovered her passion for youth work.
An avid supporter of the arts, Jade also studied Theatre Studies and English Literature at the Richmond Upon Thames College in London England.
She also played major roles in two theatre productions staged at the Lyric Theater, in Hammersmith, London.
